What to Expect
The first session is a shorter 30 minute session at a reduced rate of £30, and gives us both a chance to work out if I’m the best person to support you. In this session, I will ask what brings you to see me, as well as finding out more about your family, general health, and wellbeing. You will also have a chance to ask me questions you may have about the process.
It is normal to feel anxious, especially if you haven’t had therapy before. It is important that you feel as though you will be able to build a positive relationship with me, as this is central to the success of counselling. I always suggest that people meet with 2-3 counsellors and to go with their gut feeling on who will be best to support them.
Subsequent sessions last 50 minutes. We would agree together what you would like to focus on or change. I will commit to providing a safe, non-judgemental space for you.
Counselling sessions happen weekly at the same time, and we will regularly review how things are going and whether you are getting what you need.
